Prof. (Dr.) Seema Gupta with more than three decades of distinguished service in higher education began her academic career as a faculty member in the Department of English,RKSD College Kaithal in 1992. Steadily rising through the ranks owing to her dedication to teaching, research, and academic leadership, she was promoted to the position of Professor of English in 2017. She has made valuable contributions to research through numerous publications in reputed National and International journals. She has presented more than fifty research papers at National and International conferences, seminars, and workshops and has guided research scholars in their research pursuits.
Her academic interests include language studies, literary criticism, and contemporary approaches to English language teaching. A specialist in English Literature, English Language Teaching (ELT), Phonetics, and Linguistics, Prof. Dr. Seema Gupta has taught a wide range of courses. Her expertise in phonetics and linguistics has greatly contributed to strengthening students' understanding of the English language.
She earned her Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Bhim Singh Dahiya, a stalwart in English literature, former Chairman of the Department of English at Kurukshetra University (KUK), former Vice-Chancellor of KUK, and Emeritus Professor at MMU, Mullana. Under his mentorship, she developed a strong scholarly foundation that continues to guide her academic and professional pursuits. Her critically acclaimed book Narratology in the Novels of R. K. Narayan highlights her deep engagement with Indian literary studies and narrative theory.
In addition to her academic contributions, she has played a pivotal role in promoting institutional quality and development. As the Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of RKSD College, Kaithal for six years, she successfully led key initiatives in NAAC accreditations, promoted innovative teaching-learning practices, organized faculty development programs, and contributed significantly to institutional planning and continuous quality improvement, thereby enhancing the institution’s academic standards.
Recently Prof. Seema Gupta has been appointed as Registrar of Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind by Hon’ble Governor of Haryana and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana.Her professional journey reflects a unique combination of academic scholarship,administrative competence and visionary leadership. She remains dedicated to strengthening higher education by promoting innovation and integrity; inclusiveness and quality in every aspect of university administration. Her commitment to academic values and institutional development continues to inspire the wider academic community.
