The year 2007 is a landmark in the history of CRSU, Jind that witnessed the dawn of Department of Computer Science and Applications. Kurukshetra University Post Graduate Regional Centre (KUPGRC), Jind started functioning in August, 2007 with 2 programmes (MCA and MBA).

Course: MCA (2 Years) Intake: 50

Eligibility:- Passed B.C.A with minimum 50% marks (47.5% marks for SC/ST).

Passed B.Sc. with Computer Science (the candidate must have studied at
least one paper of Computer Science in all semesters during B. Sc. Degree)
and scored minimum 50% Marks (47.5% marks for SC/ST).

Passed B. Sc. Degree (with Mathematics/ Statistics at 10+2 level) with
minimum 50% marks (47.5% marks for SC/ST) along with PGDCA or
equivalent. In this case, for merit preparation, marks of B. Sc. and PGDCA
will be considered with 50% weightage for each.

Organization of Workshops/Orientation Programmes in the Department : Department of Computer Science and Applications organised a National Workshop on Research Methodology and Applications of MATLAB (NWRMAM’15) from February 16– 21, 2015 in which 15 resource persons from various esteemed universities of Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi sensitized the young minds about research ethics and methodologies. They also provided hands on experience on MATLAB Tool.

Events

R. Software Technologies, New Delhi visited the campus on 27th September, 2014 in which 2 students of MCA Final Year were selected for Training. On successful completion of training, these students will be offered placement.
R-CE, Chandigarh strategic Business Partners with Alcantorr, Canada visited the campus on 18th October, 2014. Current Technologies adopted by IT sector were explored.
Pinki Devi from MCA final year was selected in WIPRO Technologies.
Students and staff participated in National Workshop on Research Paper Writing at Govt. P.G College, Jind.

Shivani Jain and Parveen Kumar presented a paper “The Way We Work ………… is Changed ”in National Seminar on “Relevance of Inter-Disciplinary Approach in Higher Education” held on 12-13 Nov. 2014 at CRS University, Jind.
Parveen, student of MCA 2^nd year participated in Youth Red Cross program and got 2^nd prize in solo and group dance.
